Housing options in Bloomington are plentiful and affordable. One of the nice surprises about choosing to attend Indiana Law is the low cost of living (relative to major cities and the East and West Coasts). Most Indiana Law students live within walking distance of the law school buildings; in fact, many of the nearby apartment complexes are populated primarily by our students.
If you have children, Bloomington offers an array of public and private schools, as well as accredited day cares and preschool programs (including several IU day care centers that are on or near campus). Children can participate in academic teams, athletics, fine arts, performing arts, and publications. IU’s many precollege programs and institutes offer experiences with music, science, informatics, business, journalism, and more. Our high schools lead the state in instrumental and choral programs, state and national academic competitions, and athletic championships.
