Diana Mercer, JD'88
"Sometimes you find the best things in life in the most unlikely of places," said Diana Mercer, JD'88. For the Indianapolis native, opportunity knocked in the guise of a millennial resolution. On Jan. 1, 2000, Mercer founded Peace Talks Mediation Services, Inc. and opened the door to a new career.
Peace Talks "teams lawyers and therapists as mediators to help couples resolve divorce and custody issues in a sane, sensible, and fair way at a reasonable cost." The former divorce lawyer brought her impressive skill set and sense of purpose to Indiana Law students as a fall 2006 practitioner in residence. more »
Strategic Plan Year Two: A Vision of Success
Since its release in 2005, Indiana Law's Strategic Plan has driven our community
toward goals of increased visibility and strengthened influence on the legal profession
in a global sense. At the close of the 2006-07 academic year—the second in our five-year plan—our
ambitious institutional objectives are firmly in sight.
Faculty members successfully published or presented original, influential scholarship on at least 300 occasions. In keeping with our commitment to provide an updated and relevant curriculum, Indiana Law adopted the most significant first-year curriculum change in almost 20 years. The School continues to capitalize on new avenues for interdisciplinary and collaborative research and teaching through centers and projects available to us as part of one of the nation's premier research institutions.
