Legal Discourse & Writing II: Bar Exam

B630 is taught by G. Goodwin

This course is designed to give international graduate law students the opportunity to hone their writing skills in preparation for taking the New York Bar Examination. During the semester, we will review and practice essay-writing skills and strategies. Each week students will be assigned a weekly timed writing of an essay question previously tested on the NY Bar Exam, and, as a class, we will identify what makes the difference between a low grade and a high grade. In addition, there will be guest lectures throughout the semester on bar-related topics. These lectures will provide an introduction to each topic for students that have not taken these courses in law school, or, for those students familiar with these topics, the lectures will provide a helpful review.
