Intro to American Legal Research

Designed for LL.M. students from countries other than the United States, this one-credit credit pass/fail course will be taught during the Winter 2017 intercession. Building on the student s foundational knowledge of the American legal system, this course will cover finding and using U.S. legal materials such as cases, statutes, administrative regulations and decisions, books, and articles. It will introduce students to major online resources, including Bloomberg Law, Lexis Advance, and WestlawNext, as well as specialized electronic databases, indexes, and catalogs.

This course is only open to graduate students.
