Introduction
The Office of Career Services has developed this resource for both students and graduates interested in exploring various legal career options. This publication focuses on types of legal careers and various specialties of law practice. This "guide" is a work-in-progress. While this is a start, we plan to augment the material here with short synopses from practicing alumni describing the types of skills that lead to success as an attorney actually practicing in each of these environments and specialty areas.
Please use this guide frequently as you begin interviewing and narrowing your career choices to find the niche that is right for you. Please use the guide in conjunction with the career assessment and option materials available in the Career Services Office and the Indiana Law Library. The entire Career Services Staff is here to help you in your job search and to provide assistance in this matter. We are available to discuss your career options, future plans, and to provide guidance in your job search. We hope that you will take the time to tap all or most of the resources we have made available to you. Should you ever have a question please feel free to stop by and see us. You can either sign up for an appointment with the Assistant Dean on the schedules posted outside her office or stop by with quick questions in the early morning or late afternoon.
