The Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) will customize a self-directed job search strategy to fit your individual needs. The recruiting process is comprehensive and ongoing and each student’s experience will be unique based on their professional areas of interest, desired geographic location, skill set, and personal achievements.
OCPD offers on-campus interviews (OCI) in Bloomington each year. A myriad of national firms and organizations come to campus to interview our students. As part of a nationwide law school trend, OCI opportunities are even scheduled the week before school starts (Early OCI) to give students an opportunity to interview before classes begin. OCI is just one of many recruiting opportunities available at Indiana Law and we encourage you to meet with an OCPD team member to discuss your personal career action plan. Go to Symplicity to see what OCI opportunities are available. For additional insight into employers' perspectives on the recruiting process read the NALP Open letter to students.
In addition to on-campus recruiting, Indiana Law features on-location recruiting events (OLR) in Chicago, Louisville, and Washington, D.C. where law firms, government agencies, and public interest organizations have the opportunity to conduct first-round interviews all in the course of one day and in one convenient location. Information concerning the participating firms, agencies, and organizations is available on Symplicity.
Lawyers are busy people and some firms do not have the time or resources to participate in on-campus or on-location interviews. Many of these firms will collect resumes via Symplicity so this is a great way to get your materials in front of hiring committees in firms across the country. Details are posted on Symplicity.
