Recruiting Opportunities

The Career Services Offices offers many types of recruiting programs.

On-Campus Recruiting (OCI)

To connect students with potential employers, the Office organizes on-campus interviews with law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations and corporations. In order to make this process more efficient we have purchased a new software: Symplicity. Students may log in to this using Symplicity - Career Services Management (CSM). From here you will be able to see which employers are coming to campus and get research information about each. All bidding and scheduling is also done on this system. To obtain your login and password, please contact our office. For assistance with Symplicity see the Student Manual.

Early OCI

Due to the overwhelming success of the early interview program, we are continuing with it again this year. This fall we will offer an early interview program prior to the beginning of the fall semester: August 16, 17, 20, and 21st. We hope that the majority of our OCI recruiters will choose one of those four dates for campus visits. We will continue to have the normal fall season (Sept. 10th - Oct. 12th) for those employers who can not make the earlier dates.

All students should make sure that they have their login and passwords before leaving school. For the earlier OCI dates, all bidding on employers will be done during the summer. Bidding begins on June 1st and the deadline for bidding for the Early OCI session is July 31st. Bids are not on a first come first serve basis so bidding done any time between June 1 and July 31 is the same in the eyes of the employer. If you haven't yet received your login you may do so in the Career Services Office. Training sessions for the software are also available. For students not wishing to go thru the on-campus interviewing process it is still important for you to complete the registration part of the software and upload a resume. Our office uses this information to help in your job search.

Since many of the large firms coming to campus during the early OCI program require transcripts, it will be necessary for every student to sign a transcript release form before leaving for the summer, if you haven't already done so. Your transcript will be uploaded into the system for you in early July. If you bid on a firm that requires transcripts and you have not signed a release form, you will not be considered for that firm.

On-Location Recruiting (OLR)

In addition to on-campus recruiting, we will again be holding on-location recruiting (OLR) events in Chicago and Louisville, and DC on 9/7, 9/14 and 1/7, respectively, where law firms, government agencies and public interest organizations have the opportunity to conduct first-round interviews of second and third year students all in the course of one day and in one convenient location. Information concerning the participating firms, agencies and organizations will be available on Symplicity, where all bidding and scheduling is done as well.

Videoconference Interviews

As a result of the addition of Law School Connect, the Career Services Office is now able to offer remote videoconference interviewing for law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations and judges who are members of this nationwide network. Contact Assistant Director Kim Bunge to learn more about this exciting new program and to schedule a videoconference interview.

Resumé Collection

If an employer cannot participate in the on-campus program but they wish to see resumes of our students, they may request that our office collect resumes. All information about who is participating in this program is also found on CSM. Be sure and check this often.

Job Postings

When we receive notice of a position opening, we will post this to the job bank. Students should check this site often as we post jobs daily. Student Job Postings
