Your Community, Your Challenge

The IU Maurer School of Law is a top 35 law school that offers an outstanding legal education, regardless of your areas of interest — with points of distinction in key areas: 16th in the nation for our tax program, 20th for our intellectual property law program, and 23rd for our international programs. In addition to our Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree, we offer top-tier graduate legal studies programs, with a variety of degree options.

We also have six research centers, including intellectual property, cybersecurity, and constitutional democracy, all of which offer you hands-on experience in the profession’s fastest-growing fields. Our externships include a semester-long program in Washington, DC, and our unique Stewart Fellows program, which offers summer employment in law firms, corporations, and non-governmental organizations in seven countries around the world.

Because we’re part of a distinguished research university, you’ll also have the opportunity to tap into IU’s other graduate schools, including the Kelley School of Business and the #2-ranked School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
