Member Responsibilities
Second-year associates on the Indiana Law Journal have three primary responsibilities:
- Cite-checking: 2L Associates complete four cite-checking assignments per year. These assignments consist of reviewing a portion of a law review article and making corrections as required by the Bluebook and the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Proofreading: 2L Associates are paired with 3L members of the Journal to complete final proofreading of articles. Proofreading hours are assigned as necessary during the course of the year.
- Note Requirement: 2L Associates are required to write and submit a Note for possible publication in the Journal. Minimum length and research requirements are provided by the Executive Notes and Comments Editor.
There are a number of positions on the Editorial Board for 3L members of the Journal. All positions require candidates to successfully complete their responsibilities as Associates. Members of the Executive Board are chosen through an election process, while the remaining positions are filled by appointment.
