REFERENCE SERVICES ::

Reference Librarians are available to assist with research projects or questions. They can help you locate information, develop research strategies, and identify appropriate sources, both print and non-print, to facilitate your research. Reference service is available:
  • Weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Monday through Friday.
  • Evening and weekend reference service is also available during the academic year. Hours are 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    Monday through Thursday and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
For in-depth reference assistance, an appointment with one of the reference librarians can be scheduled in advance.

The Reference Office is located in Room 105 of the Law Library. Reference librarians may also be reached by phone at (812) 855-2938 or through the “Ask a Librarian” service.

The Library also maintains two websites with links to freely available materials that may facilitate research : Government Information Online, and the WWW Virtual Library – Law.

Government Information Online provides links to federal and state government sites and also includes guides to using governmental resources. The WWW Virtual Library – Law includes links to primary legal sources as well as some secondary sources.

The reference staff is available to assist you in using the resources of the Law Library. Although most of the reference librarians have degrees in both law and library science, they cannot provide substantive advice on a particular legal problem or interpret legal materials for you.
