PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW COLLECTION ::

In the area of public international law, the Library collects all relevant United Nations documents in microform, as well as duplicate sets of all material generated by the International Law Commission, the International Court of Justice, and its predecessor, the Permanent Court of International Justice. The Library also collects documentation of the other important international and regional law-making bodies, including the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the various independent agencies within the United Nations system. The Library also has a voluminous collection of secondary materials, both periodical and monographic, dating back to the nineteenth century, as well as a large reference collection dedicated to public international law.

Much of the material related to private international law is contained within the documentation of the United Nations system. However, the Library also has a comprehensive microform collection of materials generated by the World Trade Organization, as well as printed collections of those generated by various international bodies dedicated to the codification or unification of private law, such as Unidroit. The Library also has extensive monographic, periodical, and loose-leaf collections covering all areas of private international law, as well as specialized collections on various private law areas, such as the law of the sea.
