The law library technology facilities include Windows XP computers and laser printers for the use of law students as well as microfilm, microfiche, and microcard readers which are available for general use.

  • The library lobby contains workstations that require an IUB login for access, as well as limited-access machines that do not require a specific login. The lobby also contains two printers for student use: one large high-speed laser printer provided by the law school for law students only, and a smaller laser printer provided by university libraries for use by any IUB-affiliated person. The law-provided printer deducts pages from the user's law printing allotment, whereas the university-provided printer deducts pages from the user's general printing allotment. Patrons of the library without IUB accounts may use the workstations that do not require an IUB login and print using the attached inkjet printers.

  • Room 208 contains machines for reading, scanning, and printing microfilm or microfiche, as well as a (reader-only) microcard machine. It also contains a second law-provided high-speed printer similar to the one in the lobby, for law students' use only. The Lexis and Westlaw high-speed printers are also housed in room Law 208.

  • The law computer cluster in room 208 D contains 15 workstations for student use. By default, these print to the law-provided laser printer just outside the entrance to 208D. This room uses a cardswipe system, requiring a student to swipe his or her student ID. The cluster is available for law students to use any time that the Law Library is open.

The Law Library Computer Consultant, Dave Lankford, helps students with computing issues. He is available for consultation during his office hours.

Whenever undergraduate classes are not in session, his usual hours are standard: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM daily.

When undergraduate classes are in session, he is available from:

    8:00 AM - 9:15 PM, 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM, and 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, on Tuesdays and Thursdays
