EXAM FILE::

The Library maintains a permanent file of past exams for student use. The exam file exists as a study aid for students in preparing for exams. Whether or not a faculty member makes old exams available for students is entirely up to the discretion of the individual faculty member. If you choose to make your exams available, we ask that you provide the Library (typically through your secretary) with 9 paper copies and 1 electronic copy of your exam. We distribute these copies as follows:
  • Five copies for the paper exam files that are maintained at the Circulation Desk.
  • Two copies for binding and placing in our permanent collection in the Faculty Library.
  • Two copies for exchange with Yale and University of Illinois Law Schools. The exams from these law schools, as well as others, are bound and shelved in the Faculty Library with the copies of our old exams. If you do not wish to have your exams sent to these schools, please let us know.
The electronic copy is used to update our Exam File on the web. The exam file on our website is password protected. Only our own law students and faculty are allowed to have the password, and it is changed each semester for security purposes. This gives our students more flexibility in accessing exams, as they can view them from the computer lab or from their home computers. However, because it is password protected, other people visiting our website will not be able to access the exam file.

If you wish to have your old exams available for law students to use, please have your secretary give Rebecca Bertoloni Meli 9 paper copies plus an electronic copy of your exams at the end of each semester (Some faculty choose to place exams on class reserve instead of the exam file. Although we can do this, it does sometimes cause confusion as to where the exam is located).

If you have any questions about the exam file, contact Rebecca Bertoloni Meli or Linda Fariss.

If you already know the username and password, please continue to the Exam File >>
