10. Closing the File
Once the permanent order has been issued, close the file. This is done by filling out the closing memorandum. A template is located on the computer hard drive. The closing memorandum details the unique issues presented by the case and how the case was resolved. The Case Management Supervisors will then review the file with the Student Director and will move it to the Closed Cases drawers.
In addition, fill out an attorney evaluation sheet. Indicate any idiosyncracies of the attorney (i.e., likes to review documents before client signs) as well as your evaluation of the attorney’s performance. The Volunteer Attorney Coordinators will add a summary of your comments to the Attorney Notes record.
