Visiting the Law School

We encourage prospective students to visit while classes are in session to gain an accurate appreciation for the law school community. The Admissions Office is always happy to help you plan a visit—simply follow the instructions below.

Although a planned visit is ideal, we understand that schedules are ever changing and unexpected circumstances might drop you in Bloomington; therefore, you are always welcome to pop in for an unannounced or unofficial visit. The School of Law building is open to throughout the year but may observe limited hours during breaks and on holidays. You may always consult the Law Library Schedule for hours before making a surprise visit.

Classes begin on Wednesday, August 22. Visits can be arranged for as early as September 5.

Scheduling a Visit

Private Visits

Instead of offering pre-set visit days or information sessions we invite you to visit the school on any day that works for your schedule. Simply contact our office (812-855-4765) and we will help you make plans to attend a 1L class and tour the building with a current student. Visits can be built around any of the following 1L classes:

At your request we will also arrange a meeting with an Admissions professional before or after the class and tour. And if you are interested we can also assist you with scheduling appointments in our Career Services and Financial Aid Offices or with a particular faculty member.

Group Visits

We are happy to schedule group visits from undergraduate schools and pre-law clubs. These visits can include classroom observation and formal presentations from Admissions, Career Services, etc. Please contact Dani Weatherford to schedule a date.

OpenHouses

Throughout the spring semester the Admissions Office will host Friday OpenHouses for Admitted Students. Admitted students will receive an invitation and schedule of dates and activities soon after admittance. If you do not receive an invitation or have questions, contact Dani Weatherford.
