Business and Law Society (BLS)
Almost 60% of all legal practice interacts with the business world in some way. No matter what field of law you decide to go into, a little bit of knowledge goes a long way. The Business & Law Society is designed to provide students a chance to learn about the practice of business law, provide networking opportunities with practicing lawyers in the field and provide a social network at the law school for students with similar interests.
In pursuit of these goals, the BLS works actively with the administration at the law school and the Kelley School of Business to provide the best educational and employment opportunities for students in the organization. An exciting result of that work was the creation of the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic a few years ago. The clinic provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while still in school.
What you'll look forward to as a member of BLS:
- Lunches with IU Law alumni who practice in the field.
- Events with the Indiana Chapter of American Corporate Counsels (ACC), a professional organization for In-House Attorneys.
- JD/MBA joint degree information sessions.
- Resume development aimed at careers within the business law field.
- Social events, including one with the MBA graduate program.
- Leadership opportunities.
