Graduate of Indiana University and Georgetown University Law Center
Former litigation attorney, Jenner & Block, Chicago, and Jones Day, New York
Clerk for Hon. Steven D. Merrday, US District Court, Middle District of Florida
Catharine Du Bois joined the Maurer School of Law in 2010 after teaching legal writing at the University of Colorado. Before teaching, she practiced in the litigation departments of Jenner & Block LLP, Chicago, and Jones Day, New York City. At both firms, she specialized in securities law and labor and employment litigation, but also represented clients on a range of environmental, constitutional, and civil rights law matters. She also supervises students participating in the Private Practice Externship Program (B514) and the Public Interest Externship Program (B547)
Du Bois clerked for the Honorable Steven D. Merrday of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She served as a pro bono attorney as part of the Volunteer Defender Program in New York City and as an intern in the law firm of Aybay and Aybay in Istanbul. She was co-chair of the subcommittee for judicial liaisons of the ABA Section on Litigation and serves as a member of its Trial Evidence Committee.
