Programmatic Learning Outcomes for JD students
1. Legal Knowledge.
Upon graduation, Maurer School of Law students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of substantive and procedural law.
2. Legal Analysis and Communication.
Upon graduation, Maurer School of Law students will demonstrate competency in legal analysis and reasoning, legal research, legal problem-solving, and written and oral communication in the legal context.
3. Professional and Ethical Responsibility.
Upon graduation, Maurer School of Law students will be able to identify and evaluate ethical issues, and to demonstrate the capacity to exercise their professional and ethical responsibilities to clients and the legal system.
4. Professional Skills, Judgment, and Identity.
Upon graduation, Maurer School of Law students will demonstrate the up-to-date professional skills and judgment needed for competent and ethical participation as members of the legal profession, including the ability to reflect on their roles as lawyers and their obligations to clients and society.
5. Law, Justice, and the Rule of Law.
Upon graduation, Maurer School of Law students will be able to identify the components of a rule-of-law system that restrains abuses of power, protects the rights of the vulnerable, and promotes justice, equality, and access to the legal system
