Biography
Ms. Farzad graduated with highest honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in political science, with an emphasis in South Asian studies. She went on to attend law school at the University of Southern California. After law school, Ms. Farzad joined the litigation department of Foley & Lardner in Chicago, Ill. She practiced as a general commercial litigator for five years before moving to Foley's Los Angeles office to work in intellectual property litigation. While at Foley, Ms. Farzad was involved in the firm's diversity recruitment efforts. Ms. Farzad served on the Litigation's Diversity Committee which focused on the recruitment and retention of minorities and women. Ms. Farzad was also actively involved in the South Asian community and worked on several pro bono projects, including organizing a benefit concert series to raise money for victims of the Pacific Rim tsunami. Ms. Farzad left the practice of law to move to Bloomington, Ind. to raise her family. She joins the Indiana University Maurer School of Law as the executive director of its Center on the Global Legal Profession.
