
Biography
María Lucero Guillén Puón joined the Milt and Judi Stewart Center on the Global Legal Profession as Center Coordinator in January 2024. In October 2024, she was promoted to Associate Director for Partnerships and Community Engagement. In this role, she manages the Center’s international partnerships for the Stewart Fellows Internship Program and oversees partnerships that support study abroad, exchange, and international academic opportunities for Indiana University Maurer School of Law students. She works closely with partner institutions, law firms, and organizations around the world to expand global learning and professional development opportunities for Maurer students.
Her diverse professional journey includes roles at the Indiana University Mexico Gateway, where she organized deeply meaningful academic events and collaborated with institutions such as the Mozilla Foundation and the Mexican Ministry of Culture. Lucero's commitment to sustainability is evident from her role at Erasmus+ Portugal, where she played a key role in creating a sustainability plan and supporting the internationalization of vocational education. Her scholarly interests in sustainability, multiculturalism, and global development align seamlessly with the Center's mission, making her a valuable addition to advance the understanding of the global legal profession.
