Family & Disability Law Association
Mission
Family & Disability Law Association's mission is to build an open, inclusive community for students interested in family law and/or disability law. The organization carries forward the missions of its predecessors, Family Law Society and the Disabled Law Student Association, by supporting disabled students, advancing disability justice, and cultivating interest in family-law practice and policy.
About FDLA
We welcome members who: (1) identify as disabled or want to advocate for disability rights, (2) are exploring or pursuing careers in family law, disability law, or related advocacy, or (3) wish to engage with either—or both—of these fields in their personal, academic, or professional lives. FDLA provides a forum to learn, discuss, and act on legal issues affecting the Maurer disability community, families, and the broader public.
FDLA endeavors to support the work of other affinity and justice-oriented organizations on campus and to offer the perspectives of students with disabilities and students interested in family law to inform and improve the accessibility and inclusivity of those efforts.
